Project Overview
A single-player, 2D, top-down pixel art game for PC
You play as a reality tv show chef that has angered the audience somehow. Now you must complete each of your recipes while your stage is in chaos!
Goal
Survive the audience and complete all the recipes of each level.
Game Play
Walk around the map to collect ingredients in the pantry and fridge, and tools to assist your cooking. Once you have the items, you can go to designated parts of the kitchen, like the stove/oven, sink, and counter to craft or cook your meal. Once you have completed your dish, you can take it to the display table to complete the level.
Obstacles: Objects thrown by the audience, Oil Spills that slow the player down, Temporary vision impairment from a Tomato Splat, Fires that burn you when touched, and Obstacles that block your path.
Mechanics: Collect ingredients, pick up and place tools, cut/cook/craft
Challenges
1) Procedural Content Generation
Random occurring Fires, Tomato Splats, and Objects thrown by the audience
2) Inventory + Crafting System with harvesting/farming/mining from the environment
Collecting food items and tools, Chopping ingredients, and Crafting meals at the stove
